What are Collisions, Kubernetes and Good Space?

They're ingredients for innovation!

Good Space will be Santa Barbara’s collision space, bringing people together to enhance local innovation.

Architects design for collisions, the term for encouraging people to run into each other, with the hope of enhancing otherwise unlikely collaboration. It's that unplanned watercooler conversation between colleagues of different teams, or even companies, that leaps progress forward.

How so? Recently two professionals entrenched in Kubernetes (an application container computing methodology which is advancing the commoditization of data warehousing) happened to be at Good Space at the same time, and this led to a fascinating conversation, albeit masked and six feet apart.  (If you are interested in Collisions, I recommend “How Creative Collisions Drive Innovation” from Cornell. If you are unfamiliar with Kubernetes, Wikipedia might be the place to start.)

Good Space is a physical platform for meeting interesting people from our local science, technology, business, and academic communities, now masked, six-feet apart.
